In a freaky ruling a judge has asked Victoria Azarenka to choose between the two - tennis or a her child, and is making her drop out of the US Open, reports TMZ.

After McKeague filed custody documents in Los Angeles, where Azarenka, 28, has a residence, a judge informed the Belarus-born athlete she is unable to leave the state of California with her infant son as the custody dispute drags on.

The case will conclude in October meaning Azarenka, twice victor of the Australian Open, will not travel to NY for the event starting on August 28.

TMZ also alleges the judge has refused to defer to Belarus' court, where Azarenka already has a valid custody order.

The Cincinnati-based tournament is part of the lead-up to the US Open, which begins August 28.

Azarenka, 28, pulled out of the Cincinnati Open on Friday, citing a "family matter".
