Police seeking London attack victim find body in Thames

Danilo Martir | 10 Junio, 2017, 07:07

The third London Bridge attacker has been named as Moroccan-Italian Youssef Zaghba.

It was also disclosed last night that Butt, the attack ringleader, was arrested by police earlier this year after he attacked an Islamic scholar - but he was let off with a caution.

French President Emmanuel Macron later confirmed there had been a third French victim of the London attack.

On the night of the attack, staff pretended to lock the doors in a move that was thought to protect 20 customers inside.

Britain signed up to the system two years ago, with the Home Office saying it would receive alerts on "suspected terrorists".

Ismael Paniagua, director del nuevo modelo penitenciario, sostuvo que durante este tiempo no pueden salir de sus casas, so pena de que la medida sea revertida.

In a statement, police said: "Formal identification has not yet taken place, however Mr Thomas' next of kin have been informed of this development".

Meanwhile, the prime minister of Spain said Ignacio Echeverría, 39, who died defending a woman with his skateboard, should be given a posthumous award - the Silver Cross of the Order of Civil Merit.

Butt had worked for the London Underground for six months previous year as a trainee customer services assistant, Transport for London told the BBC.

Breaking down in tears, Nasir Dar said he felt like the victims were his family, British media reports said.

The terrorists "hesitated" then ran down the road and began to attack drinkers in the nearby Mudlark pub before entering Borough Market itself.

People near the scene of the recent attack observe a minute's silence in tribute to the victims of the attack at London Bridge and Borough Market, in central London, Britain June 6, 2017. Eighteen people remain in critical condition.

Police have identified the attackers as Youssef Zaghba, a 22-year-old Italian national of Moroccan descent, Khuram Shazad Butt, 27, a Pakistan-born Briton, and Rachid Redouane, 30, a self-described Moroccan-Libyan dual national.

Redouane's ex-wife, Charisse O'Leary, said she was "deeply shocked, saddened and numbed" by his actions. After a period living together in Morocco, Zaghba's parents separated and the mother returned to Italy.

Collina said she had last spoken to her son on Thursday afternoon.

It has since been reported, however, that the British security services have not found "any evidence" the Italians shared intelligence on Zaghba with them.
