Sweden has dropped all charges against Wikileaks founder Julian Assange – but he's not a free man just yet

Sweden's top prosecutor dropped a long-running inquiry into a rape claim against Assange on Friday, saying there was no way to detain or charge him "in the foreseeable future" because of his protected status inside the embassy.
"Today is an important victory for me and for the UN's human rights system but it by no means erases the years of detention without charge in prison, under house arrest and nearly five years here in this embassy without sunlight, seven years without charge while my children grew up without me".
"Westminster Magistrates' Court issued a warrant for the arrest of Julian Assange following him failing to surrender to the court on the 29 June 2012", London police said in a statement.
His decision to jump bail and seek political asylum in the Ecuadorean embassy in London in 2012 also makes sense given the probability that the British government would accede to an extradition request from Washington.
