Putin, who said Moscow rated Lavrov's meeting with Trump "highly", said Russian Federation was ready to hand a transcript of Trump's meeting with Lavrov over to United States lawmakers if that would help reassure them.

He added that he initially laughed at reports that Russian Federation allegedly interfered in last year's USA election, but now he's concerned.

Spicer said during the press conference: "We appreciate the strong relationship that we have with Israel with respect to intelligence-sharing, and hope to continue to grow that bond".

Israeli intelligence was a source for some of the information about ISIS bomb-making capabilities that the President discussed with Russian diplomats, United States and diplomatic officials told CNN on Tuesday.

The statement from the Russian premiere comes after the Washington Post claimed that President Trump had revealed highly classified information to the Russian foreign minister and ambassador during a White House meeting on May 10.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has dismissed the ongoing scandal around President Donald Trump sharing classified intelligence with Russian officials as "political schizophrenia".

But Netanyahu spokesman David Keyes said the only topic discussed in the 20-minute conversation was Trump's upcoming visit. He and other Russian officials have portrayed such stories as an internal USA political issue.

"The security relationship between Israel & our greatest ally the United States, is deep, significant & unprecedented in volume", read one tweet.

A senior official told Haaretz that Trump simply discussed his trip to Israel later this month as part of his first foreign travels as President.

Putin's offer could have put the White House in a really hard spot.

After Putin offered Congress written records of Trump's meeting, NBC News' Andrea Mitchell asked Secretary of State Rex Tillerson if the "Russians were bugging the Oval Office?"

"On a day when we thought things couldn't get any worse, they have", Schumer said".

An official with knowledge of what was said in the Oval Office described Trump as being boastful about his knowledge of an Islamic State plot involving laptops and airliners.

Israeli Intelligence Minister Yisrael Katz said he had complete confidence in the American intelligence community.

Meanwhile, a spokesman in Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office revealed that Trump and the premier have spoken by phone as controversy brewed over the president's sharing of intelligence with Russian Federation that came from Israel.

The White House has also denied reports that Mr Trump personally appealed to then-FBI director James Comey to abandon the bureau's investigation into National Security Adviser Michael Flynn and his Russian contacts.

A USA official who confirmed the disclosure to The Associated Press said the revelation potentially put the source at risk.
