The Russian, who will make her comeback at the Stuttgart Open next week following a 15-month suspension, said that she is confident her opponents still respect her.

Former world No 1 Caroline Wozniacki said the Stuttgart tournament's decision to grant Sharapova a wildcard is "disrespectful to other players and the WTA".

Sharapova has also been invited to clay-court events in Madrid and Rome.

It will remain to be seen how she adapts back into an environment which she has graced since the turn of the century, achieving the bulk of her success in her late-teens and early-twenties.

NikeLab is dubbed the "company's collaborative innovation platform", but there's not an very bad lot of innovation on show here. On the inside, though, you're still getting the same Apple Watch Series 2 with an aluminum case in either 38mm or 42mm sizes.

In order to do so she must earn enough points in the meantime by making the final in Stuttgart.

Roland Garros will already be missing another big draw to the women's game as Serena Williams is expecting her first child.

Controversially the Russian knows she will play on Wednesday, because her ban for a doping offence does not expire until midnight on Tuesday.

She makes her return on Wednesday - the first day she is eligible to play - having been given a wild card for Stuttgart's WTA tournament, with some rivals disapproving of the organisers' decision.

SBF has been listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchance since 2013, and booked sales of about 1.4 trillion yen ($17.13 billion) in 2016. Suntory will retain its fresh coffee business, which is expected to be beefed up to capture a bigger share of the market.

"It's a German tournament and we have so many good German players, so this is a little odd", said Germany's current world number one Angelique Kerber.

"Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova are two unconnected cases".

The Russian will make a controversial return next week at the Stuttgart Grand Prix after serving a 15-month drug ban for using the banned substance meldonium. She posted a picture on Snapchat with a yellow bathing suit showing off her baby bump, captioned "20 weeks".

However, Sharapova could not have picked a better place to make her return.

Sharapova won the French Open in 2012 and 2014, while Williams triumphed in 2002, 2013 and 2015. Serena will have to take time off from the sport, which she has rarely done since turning pro.
